{"id":20,"date":"2024-12-10T07:30:16","date_gmt":"2024-12-10T07:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lig-mrim-new.imag.fr\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2024-12-12T14:45:40","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T13:45:40","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/lig-mrim.imag.fr\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Between 2019 and 2024, the MRIM team focused on 3 key areas: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lig-mrim-new.imag.fr\/index.php\/research\/modeling-of-ir-systems\/\">explainable multimedia models<\/a>, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lig-mrim-new.imag.fr\/index.php\/research\/information-retrieval-models\/\">IR models<\/a>: formal models of logical IR, models based on language models, etc. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lig-mrim-new.imag.fr\/index.php\/research\/evaluation-of-ir-models-and-systems\/\">the evaluation of information retrieval systems<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In line with the scientific objectives of the MRIM team, we collaborate with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/equipes-recherche\/getalp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Getalp<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/equipes-recherche\/aptikal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">APTIKAL<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/equipes-recherche\/slide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SLIDE<\/a> teams of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/axes-recherche\/systemes-intelligents-donnees-connaissances-et-humains\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SIDCH<\/a> axis of the LIG: these collaborations have made it possible to explore the involvement of Large Language Models (LLM) in new IR models.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Within the laboratory, collaborations have made it possible to focus on applications related to our core business: WildCOunt project with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/equipes-recherche\/erods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Erods<\/a>, Eye tracking for information retrieval with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/equipes-recherche\/m-psi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M-PSI<\/a>, Transparency of search engines on the Web with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liglab.fr\/fr\/recherche\/equipes-recherche\/vasco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vasco<\/a>.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">These interactions are essential to promote the exploration of innovative proposals.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"> The MRIM team is heavily involved in its research environment.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">This is reflected by active participation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/miai.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MIAI institute<\/a> with participation in the Explainable and Responsible AI, MyWayToHealth, Artificial Intelligence &amp; Language chairs, which led to the co-supervision of 3 theses.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Artelia chair of the Grenoble INP foundation is also funding a thesis.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Grenoble <a href=\"https:\/\/persyval-lab.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Labex Persyval<\/a> has also enabled the funding of a thesis.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The director of the Carnot institute is a member of MRIM.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">MRIM also participated in the creation of a start-up in the field of medical images by the SATT Linksium: Peektoria, created in 2022. Finally, MRIM regularly obtains Emergence funding, funded by the unit and allowing collaborations with other LIG teams.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Our work is the subject of demonstrations (for example at SIGIR 2023), and some of our developments are also distributed, such as ML-WIKIR in 2020 (python library to build multilingual test collections for information retrieval, online on GitHub), or CaBRNet in 2024 (library for the development and evaluation of case-based reasoning models).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">MRIM actively participates in the construction of test collections (<a href=\"https:\/\/clef-longeval.github.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LongEval<\/a> 2023 and 2024).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">This work helps promote common frameworks in the field of information retrieval: the data (millions of documents, thousands of queries, tens of thousands of relevance measures) are accessible and have been repatriated more than 300 times in the last 2 years.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Between 2019 and 2024, the MRIM team focused on 3 key areas: explainable multimedia models, IR models: formal models of logical IR, models based on language models, etc. the evaluation of information retrieval systems.
